to Liquid Oxygen

Patient
has to monitor reservoir carefully to make sure he/she does
not run out.

Patient
must be at home at time of delivery because the supplier
must get into the home to fill reservoir. Patient has to
waste time waiting for the supplier to arrive. Every 2-3
weeks.
·
Liquid Oxygen evaporates. Liquid portables will be fully
depleted in 24 hours if used or not.
·
Liquid
Oxygen users are dependent on their liquid reservoirs.
Liquid users cannot be away from these reservoirs for more
than a day.
·
Liquid
oxygen’s primary danger is a patient can be easily burned
when filling portable tanks.
·
Many patients have trouble filling portable tanks because of
their dexterity and lack of steadiness.
·
Liquid
oxygen continuously vents and should always be used in a
well-ventilated area.
·
Users
often freeze the portable to the reservoirs. Patient has to have
alternative means for oxygen till portable thaws.
·
Under
humid conditions, liquid oxygen draws attention because it
will produce a noticeable “smoke”, snow, and
condensation around the base of portable unit.
Patient
only receives one portable tank. At 2 LPM bottle will only
last 6 to 8 hrs with a conserving device and patient has to
be around their reservoir again.
